I’ve been working hard over here. Keeping it in balance though – getting out regularly in the fresh air (ideally during the day when it’s still light), eating well, and connecting with the deeper purpose behind why I’m putting this book out in the world.
Then there is of course the solid support I’ve got behind me too. I’ve got some skilled folk to lean into and that has relieved much of the pressure. We really want to get a well-crafted book to you on time.
And I’m confident we will…
After a first round of edits the book is now back with my copyeditor for a second round of edits. We’re expecting a light touch this time around – just to get the book as polished as possible. Those edits will probably be complete before we enter the festive season. There are also maps and photos to put the final touches on too. After that the book will be off to get proof read and typeset.
I’m also happy to announce that the book will will printed by an independent book binder in Scotland. Everything they need to print the books will be with them mid to late January. That should give us plenty of time once the books are printed to pack them up ready for delivery. Maybe we’ll be able to get the book to you a fair time before International Day of Happiness on the 20th March 2022.
It’s still a while off, but it’ll come round quick and, trust, it will be worth the wait…
In the meantime…
I’d like to offer up another video. This one is from when I was China and pretty much exactly three years ago as Christmas was approaching me. Well, it’s that time of year again so this one feels appropriate…time to reflect on what was, what has been, and who we are now.
Before you watch: take a guess at how many flat tyres I had up to this point?
And check out that frayed old hat in the video. Fortunately I found a good as new pink hat lying on the road not long after this video. I still have that pink hat and I love it. The pink sky on the front cover illustration was inspired by that hat!
PS – Over the next week or so I will upload a few more videos from my journey. I didn’t do many as I journeyed but I want to include links in the book to some of the more relevant ones I did do. I’ll share them on future book updates, but feel free to subscribe to my YouTube channel if you want to see them before then.
