Hello, my name is Christopher and I am a happiness and wellbeing expert. This is my blog and website, where I share ideas about happiness in a frank and honest way.
I’ve been involved in happiness and wellbeing professionally for more than 20 years. Initially, as an academic researcher, obtaining a PhD in 2009 from the University of Warwick, UK, going on to publish 25+ peer-reviewed academic articles, and then later as a consultant at BiGGAR Economics helping businesses understand and enhance their contribution to societal wellbeing.
However, I also have a fondness for undertaking journeys. This began when I left my academic career to spend 18-months cycling to Bhutan. I wrote a book about my journey to Bhutan, which weaves in research on happiness and happiness insights I could never have learnt as an academic. You can see some reviews here and get your own copy here. I have also walked from Edinburgh to Croydon, in order to make peace with how I grew up (find out more about that journey here). I’m currently living in Sierra Leone, and I have started to write about my experiences here.
I sometimes give talks and interviews about my work – be it my research, my cycling journey to Bhutan, or more often than not combining both. I’m always happy to get asked.
This website acts as both a blog to generally share ideas about happiness and wellbeing and provide an overview of some of the work I’ve carried out over the years. Take a look around and if you would like to find out more then get in touch. I am interested in contributing to the creation of conditions that foster individual & societal wellbeing and keen to work with others who want to do so.
Thanks for your comment Maria. Glad you like the analysis. You can put in an order for the book here – https://journeyforhappiness.co.uk/shop/. There is the Pay What You Can option at the bottom if needs be.
Blessings over to Uzbekistan.
Christopher
